TTC Timeline

Summary: After 3 failed IUIs, I went into surgery, diagnosed with Stage 3 endometriosis.  3 more IUIs failed after the lap.  We moved onto IVF.  Retrieved 12 mature eggs, transferred 2 on day 3.  Pregnancy test on 2/21.

Aug 06 – We met. Was not love at first sight. More like love at 25th sight?

Sep 08 – Started long distance relationship

Nov 09 – He proposed. I said yes.

Oct 10 – Became homeowners

Apr 11 – Got married

July 11 – Adopted our fur baby

Jan 12 – Started TTC

May 13 – 18 months of trying ( we might have skipped here and there due to traveling, etc), we went to see Dr S.  He said everything looks normal and that we should be pregnant soon with IUIs.  Only issue he saw with ultrasounds were that I had some fluid build up outside of my uterus.   He suspects mild endometriosis but doesn’t think it’s a big deal.  He’ll re-visit if we’re not pregnant soon.

Jun 13 – IUI #1: Letrozole, Trigger, IUI, Progesterone  – BFN.  Also found our DH’s sperm count isn’t the greatest.  Doc’s words: “it’s Okay“.  We buy a ton of supplements for him.

Jul 13 – IUI #2: Letrozole, Trigger, IUI, Progesterone – BFN.  Good news: DH’s count went up.

Aug 13 – IUI #3: Letrozole, Trigger, IUI, Progesterone – BFN. Good news: DH’s count went up even more 

Aug 13 – 3 IUIs, we’re not pregnant.  Let’s figure out if I do have endo. Laparoscopy. Diagnosed with Stage III Endometriosis. Found 3 cm fibroid (not treated)

Sept 13 – IUI #4: Letrozole, Trigger, IUI, Progesterone – BFN. Bad news: DH’s count went way down.  Back to the same level as IUI #1.

Nov 13 – IUI #5, Letrozole + Menopur combo.  Lupron trigger, IUI, Progesterone and Estradiol.  BFN.  Good news: DH’s count has been the best so far.

Dec 13 – IUI #6. Letrozole. Trigger, IUI, Progesterone.  BFN. DH’s motility was very low.  We have 3 IVF consults scheduled for mid-December.

Dec 13 – Starting IVF protocol with baseline blood draws and lupron test shot.

Dec 13 – Started BCPs

Happy New Year!

Jan 8, 2014  – Sonohysterogram to check for polys/fibroids in uterus.  All clear.  Instruction class on medication and schedules.  Semen analysis : we are a little shocked by the results.  83M with 59% motility.  WHAT?!

Jan 13, 2014 – Started 10 units of Lupron/day.  Still on BCP.

Jan 17, 2014 – Last BCP, done!

Jan 22, 2014 – Baseline ultrasound.  Everything looks good, we are good to go for IVF.  Made our payments that will cover 2 fresh cycles and any FETs if we have frozen embryos from the fresh cycle.

Jan 24, 2014 – Start 175 MIU of Follistim, 2 injections per day.  2 units of mini-hcg and still on Lupron.  DH starts Doxycycline, twice a day.

Jan 27, 2014 – First blood draw.  Estrogen levels are good.  Same FSH dosage but stop mini-hcg.  E2: 258

Jan 30, 2014 – First ultrasound + blood draw.  Follicles growing well, biggest one is 13mm. E2: 1414

Feb 1, 2014 – Second ultrasound + blood draw.  E2: 2718

Feb 3, 2014 – Third ultrasound + blood draw.  HCG Trigger!!!

Feb 5, 2014 – Egg retrieval.  16 retrieved 12 mature!

Feb 8, 2014 – Transferred 2 embryos.  2ww begins.

Feb 21, 2014 – Positive Beta!

March 7, 2014 – Confirms twins!

April 22, 2014 – Week 13 NT scan, two medical professionals say their guess is two boys.

June 20, 2014 – Week 21 anatomy scan. Confirms two boys.
